Hi I’m Sam and I have been competing in triathlon since 2009. My journey in the sport has taken me all over the world. I have participated in events ranging from super sprint distance up to Half Ironman and have been crowned British and European Triathlon Champion at Age Group Level. I also went on to win further European medals and raced in the Elite British Super Series.
I took a break from the sport in 2015 to have my son and put on 5 stone in the pregnancy so making a comeback was tough; but not impossible. With a bit of hard work I topped the podium of my first triathlon back.
I am so passionate about helping others and have accumulated thousands of coaching hours helping others to achieve their goals. My professional qualifications include: A PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate in Education), a 1st class honours degree in Sports & Exercise Science from Loughborough University, a Certificate in Post Natal Exercise and a British Triathlon Level 3 Coaching Qualification. I have also won 3 coaching awards: Wyre Forest Coach of the Year Award (2016); Triathlon England West Midlands Coach of the Year Award (2017) and Triathlon England National Coach of the Year Award (2017). I have also completed the Safeguarding & Child Protection courses and a First Aid Course.
I have coached a wide range of athletes over the last 6 years ranging from those new to the sport wanting to take on their first triathlon, to World medallists at Age Group level. I’ve worked with schools to introduce the sport to youngsters and coached children since 2007 helping them to grow in confidence and develop a love for the sport. I thoroughly enjoy working with groups and individuals to help them to reach their potential – as a coach there’s no better feeling!
