UncategorizedWyre Forest Go Tri Event 1 Round Up

January 17, 20220

Last weekend on Sunday 9th January we saw the first of our off-road duathlon races. These Go Tri events are a fun, no frills type of event to encourage participation and tempt everyone to have a go at this fabulous sport. Our events may be simple and relaxed, but the mud and hills of Wyre Forest certainly made it tough!

Competitors took on a 2.5k run, a 6k hilly bike and then a final 2.5k run. Anyone who started in a white top or trisuit certainly didn’t finish in one! The weather was fantastic and the marshals were out in force to keep you as safe as possible and ensure you didn’t take any wrong turns (and extra hills!). The forest was much busier than normal due to the blue skies so well done for navigating some busy sections and excited dogs!

The final results of the day can now be seen by clicking here. Well done to everyone who took part – a great way to blow away the cobwebs post-Christmas! A big thank you of course to all of the volunteers who gave up their time to make this possible and to Charlotte who took the lead on organising this event for us all – thank you! There’s always a lot more that goes on behind the scenes than you might think so thanks so much to everyone who came together for a great day. Thanks also to Amanda who came along to take photos of the day. You can see these on our Facebook page – do give us a like and follow here.

We are delighted to say that entries for the February event on Sunday 6th February are now open! You can enter by clicking here. The course will be exactly the same as last time so you either have a time to beat, or can come along for the first time and get a benchmark! We can’t promise the same lovely weather but we can promise a great course and a great atmosphere!

See you all on the 6th February!
